BYLAWS
Trail Riders in Christ Motorcycle Club
TRIC - MC
These Bylaws govern the affairs of the Trail Riders in Christ (TRIC) Motorcycle Club, a Christian based motorcycle club. This club will give emphasis to our Lord and Savior – Jesus Christ - in all we do.
1.1 The club will hold a meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. The meeting will start at
7PM and consist of the following agenda:
1.2 The meeting shall be held in a pre-designated location, and last approximately one
hour.
The club President, or any two (2) -club members may call a special club meeting. The person, or persons authorized to call special meetings may choose any place that will be convenient for a majority of the club members that will attend. The person, or persons calling a special meeting shall notify the Secretary with the required information (see 1.4) to be included in the notice of the meeting. The Secretary shall give notice to the members of the club.
Each member shall be notified of the special meeting by e-mail, or phone call. The notice shall state the place, date and time of the meeting, who called the meeting, and purpose for which the meeting is called.
2.1 The officers of the club shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Score Keeper, and Web Master. The club officers may create additional officer positions, define the authority and duties of each such position, and elect or appoint persons to fill the positions. One person may hold more than one office.
2.2 ELECTION AND TERM OF OFFICE
The members of the club shall elect officers annually during the February meeting. Each officer shall hold the office(s) until a successor is duly selected. An officer may be elected to succeed him/herself in the same office.
The club members may remove any officer elected, or appointed by the club members with good cause, and a majority vote of the members.
The club members may fill a vacancy in any office for the un-expired portion of the term.
The President shall supervise and control all of the business and affairs of the club. The President shall work closely with all club officers to determine the best course of action for the club. The President shall preside at all meetings of the club. The President shall perform all other duties incident to the office of president.
The President shall accrue points, but the President is not eligible for the end of year club participation awards.
The Vice President shall work closely with the President and all club officers to determine the best course of action for the club. In the President’s absent, the Vice President shall perform the duties of the President. When a Vice President acts in place of the President, the Vice President shall have all the powers of the President. The Vice President shall perform other duties as assigned by the President, or club officers.
The Vice President shall accrue points, but the Vice President is not eligible for the end of year club participation awards.
The Treasurer shall:
(a) Have charge and custody of, and be responsible for, all funds of the club.
(b) Receive and give receipts for monies due and payable to the club from any source.
(c) Deposit all monies in the name of the club in banks, trust companies or other depositories as directed by the club officers or President.
(d) Write checks and disposes funds to discharge obligations of the club.
(e) Maintain the financial books and records of the club.
(f) Prepare financial reports at least annually.
(q) Perform other duties as assigned by the President or the club officers.
(h) Perform the entire duties incident to the office of Treasurer.
2.8 SECRETARY
The Secretary shall:
(a) Maintain a copy of the Bylaws, and any amended versions, or amendments to the Bylaws.
(b) Give all notices as provided in the Bylaws, or as required by law.
(c) Record minutes of the club meetings, and keep the minutes as part of the club records.
(d) Maintain custody of the club records.
(e) Keep a register of the name and mailing address of each club member.
(f) Perform duties as assigned by the President, or by the club officers.
(g) Perform all duties incident to the office of the Secretary.
The Scorekeeper shall:
(a) Collect club activity points from club members.
(b) Tabulate said scores and maintain on-going standings for each member of the club.
(c) Send a quarterly report of the standings to the club Webmaster for posting.
(d) Club activity points will be accrued as follows:
Attending a meeting – 5 points
Attending other club events – 5 points
Helping work a race – 5 points
Bringing in a new member – 10 points
Attending a race – 5 points
Wearing club logo to the meetings, races, or events - 1 point
Attending other motorcycle events – Supercross, Expos, Arenacross, etc…5 points
Attending extra church activities – Seminars, concerts, retreats, etc…5 points
(e) Definition of a club event: Any event that is officially announced as a club event. Card chase, picnics, club get togethers and so on.
(f) It is the responsibility of each member to advise the scorekeeper of the points collected between meetings. This is based on the honor system.
3. CLUB MEMBER CONDUCT
This is a Christian based club, and all members are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.
(a) Pleasing the Lord should be the great ambition of every club member’s heart.
1 Thessalonians 4:1 - Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you have received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you may excel still more.
(b) Conduct towards everyone we come in contact with, should be biblically based.
Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in Me (Jesus), practice these things; and the God of peace shall be with you.
Any club member, or club officer may inspect, or receive copies of all books and records that the club is required to keep according to the Bylaws. The request must be submitted in writing. The club secretary may require reasonable fees for copying the club’s books and records. The requested copies of books, or records shall be provided no later than ten (10) working days after the club’s receipt of a proper written request.
The fiscal year of the club shall begin on the first (1st) day of December and end on the last day in November, the following year.
These Bylaws may be altered, amended, or repealed, and new Bylaws may be adopted by the club officers. The secretary will send a notice of any meeting in which the Bylaws are to be altered, amended, or repealed, to all club members.
We certify that as acting President and Vice President of TRIC, these Bylaws constitute the Bylaws of the club. These Bylaws were duly adopted at a meeting of club members held on the below date.
